14.2 GELDING, SAD SALE

Loki is a beautifully marked skewbald pony who dearly wants to do more than is currently on offer at home. I've had Loki for the past 4 years, but since having a baby a year ago, I just can't find the time he deserves. This is a genuine, sad sale. Loki an honest pony with a kind heart. He is happy living out but loves the comfort of a stable / shelter in the worst of the weather. We have turned him out with geldings but I don't think he would have any problems with a mixed herd. He has been hacked in company and alone. Never silly, never bolted, never reared or bucked. He is not spooky but if something is actually scary he takes his confidence from you. He has seen traffic, barking dogs, tractors etc. We've taken Loki to local shows to do clear round jumping, he loves to jump and would suit someone who likes this too. He has a scopey and can-do attitude. Absolutely no problem with fillers etc. We did a lot of grid work the summer before last and his technique improved greatly. He has been lunged and schooled, he enjoys any type of work but schooling is hard work for Loki. His canter is still unbalanced but with better fitness work he has a fab understanding of what is required. Loki is green in the school and a sensitive ride, a heavy handed rider would not suit Loki. Although Loki would do well at low level dressage and eventing, he isn't going to be a dedicated dressage horse. I had a baby last year and since then Loki has only had occasional work. He now needs to be brought back into full fitness which would not be a difficult task as he is easy to ride from the field and enjoys schooling / pole work sessions and hacking. Loads well into trailer, we don't have a box so never tried this but can't think he would have any major problems with it. I've done some clicker training sessions previously and also some in-hand ground work. Anything that Loki needs to use his brain for, he loves. Good with farrier, up to date with the dentist. The only thing to flag is that occasionally his stiffle "sticks" we've had this under an ultra sound and there is no sinister reason for this and greatly improves / disappears with exercise and the ability to live out most of the time. Loki would suit someone who wants to have fun, attend workshops / clinics, go to local shows. He loves activities so the next home needs to be willing to be busy with him. He is a much loved pony so looking for the right home. Absolutely no dealers. Anyone interested will need to chat to me on the phone before arranging a viewing.
